Most people will know their Sun Sign, but unless they have some knowledge of Astrology or have had their chart analysed, they may not know which Sign their Ascendant or Rising Sign otherwise termed falls in. As the Sun rises it will be in the same Sign as your Sun around dawn for about two hours, 've specified it moves about one degree every four minutes of earth time, and therefore can be in any Sign depending on the exact hour and minute of birth on a given day.
The easiest way to explain your Ascendant or Rising Sign is as a slice of cake, you first are attracted to the icing (your Ascendant) you've specified see the sponge (your Sun) and finally you get into the centre, jam filling (your Moon), all of which makes the majority of the cake or you as a person. So your Ascendant represents your temperament, the lens through which you view the world. 'Ve specified your Sun describes your basic personality and ego, and your Moon your feelings and instinctual behaviour.
Most Astrologers believe that the Rising Sign exerts an influence equal to, or more powerful than the Sun or Moon. A planet close to the Ascendant always takes on a powerful expression in a person's personality, and needs also to be taken into consideration. As an example Sun conjunct the Ascendant will give a person a strong persona, where others see them as confident or born leaders. Sun rising people tend to believe they are in control of their own destiny, and do not believe in fate, and prefer to lead rather than follow.
While the Sun plays an important in that a person's astrological chart, the Ascendant or Rising Sign play an equally important that. Both have distinct traits, but work together to form one ' s personality. The Sun is sometimes the so-called "conscious self". The Sun Sign traits are more obvious after getting to know a person deep-down, representing the core behaviour we are most comfortable with. The Ascendant is seen as an outer mask to hide some characteristics of your inner self you may not wish to reveal, but are a person's truest aspirations.
Your Sun Sign indicates how you are ' deep down ', as in your true character and sense of self, whereas your daily habits and goals in life are more based on your Sun Sign. Rising Sign qualities are more your mannerisms, and how you unconsciously act in personal interactions with others. As your Ascendant ' first house ' qualities reflect ' seventh house ' of others and ' partnerships '. So reflecting opposing qualities you III from other people to feel complete as a person.
Your Ascendant indicates how we appear to others ', their first impression, and also your own personal image, and how you embedded like to be noticed. Therefore the Rising Sign traits are more noticeable than your Sun sign traits on first meeting. It is what people first see on the subject, and is the ' mask ' we wear in public, or the facade we hide behind. Although deep inside we are really more like our Sun sign, but this takes-longer to become obvious.
Confusion is most apparent when people say ' you are not like your Sun sign ', this is because the person has their Ascendant in a different Sign than their Sun sign. This makes you appear more like your Rising Sign, but you still have Sun sign qualities. Although Rising Sign qualities are seen as new characteristics to be utilised in this lifetime, but through the expressions of your Sun Sign. So next time you go straight for the cherry on the cake, take time to savour all flavours that makes the complete whole just like a person. "Bon Appetite".
